glow up tips

Introduction

If you’re like me and many other people, at some point in your life, you probably felt insecure. Maybe it was because you were afraid to talk to someone or maybe it was because you didn’t feel good about yourself. Whatever the reason was for feeling insecure, I want to share with you some glow-up tips on how to gain confidence.

What does “glow-up” mean?

Glow-up is a term that has become popular to describe the process of becoming happier, more confident, and more comfortable with yourself. The word “glow-up” can be applied to any aspect of your life, including your physical appearance, personality traits, or relationships with others. But the most common application of glow-up is to refer specifically to an improvement in confidence levels.

For most people, gaining confidence doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time—sometimes even years—to stop feeling insecure about certain things in our lives and begin accepting who we are as individuals. However, there are several ways you can accelerate this process and start feeling more confident right now by using these glow-up tips!

How long does it take to shine using these glow-up tips?

It depends on your goals, your mindset, your motivation, and how hard you work. The good news is that it’s not a one-time thing. It’s an ongoing process of building confidence over time. You’re never going to be “glowing” all the time—you’re always going to have moments where you need a boost of confidence or feel like things aren’t working out right now—but making these changes will help make those moments less frequent and more manageable when they do happen!

glow up tips

My favorite glow-up tips:

In order to radiate positivity, glow, and shine, you have to take care of yourself. That means getting enough rest, eating well, and exercising regularly. It also means investing in you! If there are parts of your life that need work (your personal style), then go do it! You’re worth it!

Here are my favorite glow-up tips:

Stay Hydrated

It’s important to stay hydrated, no matter what you’re doing. If you are not properly hydrated, your body will react by releasing stress hormones that can lead to anxiety and fatigue. Additionally, drinking plenty of water will help flush out toxins from your system and keep your skin clear and glowing.

Get Enough Rest

Getting enough rest is essential to your physical and mental health. Sleep allows you to feel rested, energized, and inspired; it also helps with memory consolidation, hormone regulation, and body temperature regulation. The amount of sleep you need varies from person to person but most people should aim for eight hours a night if possible.

If you want to improve the quality of your sleep there are a few things that can help:

  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine before bedtime.
  • Establish a consistent routine before bedtime—no matter what time you go to bed each night make sure that every night includes turning off all electronics at least 30 minutes before sleeping so that they do not act as distractions as well as practicing good sleep hygiene (ex: no eating 2 hours prior).
  • Make sure your room is completely dark and comfortable for falling asleep in.

Take care of what you eat

One of the most important glow-up tips is taking care of what you eat. When you’re being mindful about what you eat, it will make a difference in how confident and energetic you feel—even if there’s nothing else going on in your life at the moment.

Here are some tips for eating a balanced diet:

  • Eat less processed food and more protein (meat or beans) and vegetables. You’ll have more energy because your body is getting what it needs!
  • Avoid sugar as much as possible; instead, choose dark chocolate or nuts for energy boosts.

Invest in you!

You’re worth it. If you’re looking for a way to increase your shine, and confidence, consider investing in yourself. This is a very important glow-up tip. Your health, your education, your relationships, your career—all of these are important aspects of life that can help boost your self-esteem.

If you’re not sure where to begin with this process, we recommend starting with something small: maybe buy some new clothes or books on topics that interest you (and have nothing to do with being better at your job). The point is that if you want more confidence in life then try investing time and energy into what makes YOU happy!

Get organized and create schedules

Being organized is a very important aspect of gaining confidence and glow-up. When you are organized, you will be able to accomplish more and get things done. You will also feel less stressed because you will be able to check off tasks easier and set aside time for relaxation if need be.

To stay on top of your daily schedule, create a checklist of everything that needs to get done in a day or week. Then cross them off as they are completed! This will help keep track of projects, appointments, exercise routines, and anything else that comes up throughout the day or week! This way there won’t be any excuses for not accomplishing something because this list helps remind us what needs doing so there’s no confusion as to whether we’ve remembered something or not (which can lead to forgetting).

Here are some examples:

  • Make sure groceries are bought before running errands;
  • Make sure bills have been paid before going out with friends;
  • Make sure laundry has been done before going out.

Work on your personal style

Another glow-up tip that boosts your confidence and shine is to work on your personal style. This means finding out what works for you and putting it in the spotlight. Sometimes it’s fun to try new things, like a bold lipstick or a cool hat. The point is that by experimenting with different looks, you’ll learn a lot about yourself and discover exactly how to present yourself confidently (and let’s face it: in a stylish way).

Work on your mental health

There are many glow-up tips but one of my favorites is to work on your mental health. Learn to love yourself and your body. If you can’t do this, it will be hard for anyone else to love you either.

Take your vitamins daily

Vitamins are essential for optimal health and can help you feel happier, more energetic, and more confident. Taking your vitamins is an important glow-up tip. If you’re an adult, chances are you’ve already heard that vitamins are essential to your health. But how do they help with glow-up?

Well, for one thing, vitamins and other nutrients help to keep your skin healthy. (You know what they say: “Your skin is a barometer of what’s going on inside.”) If it’s not getting the proper nutrition from food or supplements, it will likely reflect in the way your skin looks and feels.

Boost your skincare routine

You’ve got great skin, but it could be even better.

Your skincare routine is there to help you maintain the beautiful, clear, glowy skin that you’re currently rocking, but it can do even more to give you an added boost.

Here are some glow up tips for getting the most out of your skincare routine:

  • Use a good moisturizer. If you want your skin to glow, it’s important to keep it hydrated, so make sure you’re using a hydrating moisturizer that works for your specific skin type.
  • Wear sunscreen every day! If you don’t want to end up looking like a pasty ghost, wear SPF 30 or higher every day and reapply it when needed (even if it isn’t advertised as water-resistant).
  • Don’t forget to cleanse your face! This will help remove dirt and other debris from your pores so they don’t clog up as quickly—and it also helps keep bacteria at bay.
  • Find the right products for your skin type and needs. If you have oily skin, don’t use products that are meant for dry skin. And if you have dry skin, don’t use products that are meant for oily skin!

Start a workout regimen that suits you

When it comes to exercising, it’s crucial to find a workout routine that works for you and your schedule. There are many options for different types of workouts: from traditional at-home exercises like running and weightlifting to more unusual activities like pole dancing or hiking.

Whatever sport you choose, make sure that it fits within your lifestyle so that it doesn’t become overwhelming or too time-consuming. It’s also important to pick a fitness activity that challenges your body but isn’t so difficult as to discourage you from continuing with your fitness plan in the long term.

If possible, seek out instruction from a professional who can teach you proper form while keeping things fun and interesting!

Ensure you’re taking time for yourself and learning to love it

The process of learning to love yourself may seem daunting, especially if you’ve been struggling with self-confidence for most of your life. But it’s important to remember that everyone needs their own time and space for self-care. In order to build up your confidence, make sure you’re taking time for yourself and learning how to love it.

When considering how you spend free time in the day-to-day, consider these questions:

  • Are there ways I could improve my ability to relax?
  • What would make me feel more comfortable?
  • Is there anything that would help me unwind?

Learn to say no, there is no such thing as fake confidence

I know it can be hard to say no, but learning how to do so will help you build confidence and shine. If you want something and someone asks you for something that is going to take away from what matters most, say no.

There are many things we cannot do and there are some things we just aren’t interested in doing. For example: if someone asks me if I want a cookie I can say “no thank you” because I don’t like cookies!

Saying no isn’t always easy, but it can be liberating. And sometimes it’s the only way to let someone else know how much you love and value them: by letting them know how much they can’t push your buttons!

It’s also important to learn when it’s okay (or not) to ask for help. Sometimes it’s good to ask someone else’s opinion or advice on something because they might have a better idea than yours! Or maybe even just having another person look at something with fresh eyes can help solve the problem at hand!

Don’t let fear keep us from reaching your goals

We all want to glow up—but sometimes, it can feel like the only thing that’s holding us back is our own fear. So here are some tips for how to get over your fears and start hitting those goals!

  • Start small
  • Get help when you need it
  • Take things one step at a time.

Don’t let fear keep us from reaching your goals! There are times when fear may seem like a valid reason why we shouldn’t pursue our dreams but those times should be few and far between because ultimately fear isn’t rational; instead of letting fear get in the way try asking yourself: what’s scarier? Going after my dream or being scared?

Set some goals and go get them!

If you’re not where you want to be, then it’s time to set some goals. It’s important to set goals that are attainable, so don’t try to start your own company or become a pro athlete unless you’ve got the drive and skills required for those things.

Just focus on something small and manageable like taking a class or finally making those friends who will help support your new career path in the long run. If possible, write down your goal so that it has more meaning.

Once written down on paper, break down your goal into smaller steps—it’s easier than trying to tackle everything at once. Also remember: focus on what positive actions need to be taken in order for this thing called “life” as a whole (aka “you”) will achieve its desired outcomes. The rest will take care of itself!

Make decisions with confidence, even if they do scare you at first!

Deciding to have the courage to take action is a huge step in building your glow up. Even though it may feel scary at first, it’s important to remember that fear only seems overwhelming because we’ve made it so.

It’s actually a great tool for helping us grow and develop as individuals—so use it! You can do this by pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and trying new things (like taking up an activity you’ve always wanted to try), or simply by making small changes in your everyday life that will help boost your self-esteem (like getting up earlier). Just make sure that whatever decision you make is something reasonable—otherwise, all of this will be for nothing!

When you are feeling down, remind yourself of your successes!

One of the best ways to boost your confidence is by thinking about all the times you’ve been successful. If you don’t have any successes, start working on them now! Goals are a good way to get started, but don’t be afraid of failure. It’s part of the process.

Glow-up your mindset

Confidence is a mindset, and your mindset is everything. No matter what you’ve been through, no matter how many times you’ve heard “no,” or how many times you’ve been hurt, there’s always another opportunity out there for you.

You can’t change the past but you can change your future. Your mindset determines your success and happiness in life – so if it’s not what it should be right now then start making some changes!

Some examples of things that will help change your outlook:

  • Think positively about yourself and others
  • Focus on what makes you feel good rather than what makes you feel bad
  • Get rid of negative people from your life
  • Do things that make YOU happy (not anyone else)
